The story so far….

Oliver Spencer's Maskatron has been a resounding failure - the out of control robot has savagely repossessed Barney 'The Seven Million Dollar Man' Hiller's bionics and is now working on doing the same to Steve Austin. Meanwhile, an alien organism is transforming the NASA crew at the Kennedy Space Center.

Now....

We're getting to the end of the main storyline here, with set-ups for future plots being laid in neatly. Writer James Kuhoric is keeping up both the pace and the loyalty to the original series with no sign of slowing down. Oliver Spencer realizes the depths of his failure and steps up to try and put things right, while Jaime heads to Kennedy since Steve is out of commission after the Maskatron fight. Meanwhile, Barney Hiller gets a visitor who promises to rebuild him better than the OSI did.

This last had to be one of my favorite bits of the series so far. By his second panel, I knew who the mysterious visitor to Barney's room was, before his face or motives were made clear. Another example of just how well Kuhoric knows the series. Also another example of why I'm a little worried that too many more popular secondary characters from the are being brought in too soon, but as long as it keeps making sense in the context of the story, bring 'em on!

Aside from the art nits I've picked in previous installments, I've been loving every bit of this series. It's obvious Kuhoric knows the show and is determined to give us long-time fans all the stuff we've wanted to see since the series ended. He brought frickin' Maskatron into the mix, after all. I can only hope the final battle between it and Steve ends in Maskatron's limbs flying like they would on the original action figure.

If the upcoming BIONIC WOMAN: SEASON FOUR is half as good as this, I'll be a very happy bionic fan.

(I should also note that, as of this writing, the complete SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN set is available as one of Amazon's deals of the week - $63 for the whole series, the three pre-series telemovies as well as the three reunion movies. No affiliation, just passing on the info.)
